To provide an extensible mechanism which can increase the extension/contraction stroke thereof compared with the entire length of a feeding mechanism for operating the extensible mechanism.
According to the structure of the extensible mechanism, a driven operating member 20 is connected to a driven member 13b which is moved with respect to a fixed member 13a of the feeding mechanism 12, and an operating member 25 connected to the driven operating member in a relatively movable manner, is relatively moved by an interlocking mechanism 30 which is operated according to relative movement between the fixed member and the driven operating member. Another operating member may be relatively movably connected to the operating member so as to be interlocked with the same. Preferably the interlocking mechanism may be formed of a rack and pinion mechanism, a belt transmission mechanism, or a feed screw mechanism and transform reciprocative movement to rotational movement and vice versa. The extensible mechanism is suitable for use as an expandable robot arm.
