To provide an extension pipe for a vacuum cleaner, the extension pipe being inexpensive and reducing the possibility that foreign matter and dust remain in an airflow passage.

An extension pipe includes: an outer pipe 1; an inner pipe 102 formed in such a way as to slide freely inside the outer pipe 1; a freely expanding electric conductor 4 connecting a connecting terminal A 106 to a connecting terminal B; a cylindrical body 8 covering the conductor 4; a storage part 22 disposed along the longitudinal direction of the inner pipe to store the cylindrical body 8 in such a way that the cylindrical body 8 slides freely; an opening 9 formed in the connecting terminal A 106 side of the outer pipe 1 in such a way that one end of the cylindrical body 8 is exposed; and a cover body 17 covering the opening 9. The cylindrical body 8 is fixed using a small number of part items by sandwiching one end of the cylindrical body 8 in place between the outer pipe 1 and a rib 24 hanging from the lid 17. Clogging of an airflow passage with foreign matter and dust can be prevented, and the leakage of airflow from the opening 9 is prevented by imparting airtightness to ribs 10, 17a, 26, 30 which surround the opening 9.
