PURPOSE: To provide superior resistance to chipping by forming at least a surface layer on the designed face side by means of a plastic material provided with rubber-like elasticity of specified hardness for an exterior automotive trim for a plastic automobile for which resistance to chipping is required.

CONSTITUTION: At least a surface layer on the designed face side of a locker mold 10, an exterior automotive trim for which resistance to shaping is required is formed by a plastic material provided with rubber-like elasticity of surface hardness (JIS A) 95 or less, preferably 90 or less. As for the plastic material, so-called thermoplastic elastomer or reactive injection molded polyurethane is used. The exterior automotive trims to which the material is applied are a mud guard, a side garnish, a side mold, a wheel cap, a bumper, a radiator grill arid the like. Superior resistance to chipping is provided by the arrangement without coating to improve the productivity of exterior automotive trim.
