Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain exterior decorative parts for a wrist watch with superior corrosion resistance by alloying Ni with a specified amount of Pd.
CONSTITUTION: This Ni-Pd alloy consists of 20W80% Pd and the balance Ni. Such an Ni-Pd alloy forms a complete solid soln. in any composition range, and in case of 20W80% Pd it has very superior corrosion resistance and is comparable to austenitic stainless steel in mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. In addition, this alloy is not corroded by sweat, oil, water, etc. when formed into complex exterior decorative parts for a wrist watch.
