The exterior mortar tone structure comprising an undercoat layer composed of a synthetic resin emulsion exterior thin coat finishing material based on JIS A6909, a design layer composed of a mortar tone coating material containing not less than 40 wt.% of calcium hydroxide and not greater than 10 wt.% of a synthetic resin constituent, and a protective layer composed of an acrylpolyol base material and a polyisocyanate hardener is characterized in that the zero-span in the zero-span tensile test of the synthetic resin emulsion exterior thin coat finishing material is not less than 0.7 mm. The method for coating is also provided.
