Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled external coating of sheathed heater excellent in oxidation resistance, stress corrosion cracking resistance, and weldability at a low cost, by specifying a composition consisting of Ni, Cr, Mn, Si, Ti, C, Co, Al, rare earth metal, and Fe.
CONSTITUTION: The external coating of sheathed heater made of austenitic stainless steel has a composition consisting of, by weight, 19W23% Ni, >23W25% Cr, ≤1.0% Mn, ≤0.7% Si, ≤0.3% Ti, ≤0.03% C, ≤2% Co, ≤0.3% Al, 0.03% rare earth metal element, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and satisfying Ti/C≥5%. This material is inexpensive and excellent in oxidation resistance and has superior stress corrosion cracking resistance and weldability.
