Abstract:
To provide an external device that can reliably discriminate between a connection verification signal and an alarm signal transmitted from an alarm device.SOLUTION: When receiving a signal including a signaled state from an alarm device 10 via a signal line, an external device 20 determines that an alarm signal has been received in the case where a signaled period of the signal including the signaled state is equal to or longer than a predetermined reference period and starts before a scheduled signal timing, and determines that a connection verification signal has been received in the case where the signaled period is less than the reference period or the signaled period is equal to or longer than the reference period and has not started before the scheduled signal timing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
