To provide an external facing material for construction and a coating liquid for building external facing having excellent performance of toxic gas decomposition, mildew proofing, and algae propagation prevention and capable of preventing a photocatalyst layer from being discolored while preventing a basic material from being deteriorated.
This external facing material for construction includes the basic material and the photocatalyst layer formed on the basic material. The photocatalyst layer is formed by applying the coating liquid for building external facing and then drying it. The coating liquid for building external facing contains particles of photocatalytic titanium oxide, hardening silicone emulsion, a water-soluble copper compound, a dyroxyphenyltriazine compound, and water. The particle of photocatalytic titanium oxide is a particle of photocatalytic titanium oxide having stronger oxidation power than reducing power.
