The external facing structure is mounted with an external facing material 1 through holding members 2, wherein the external facing material 1 has inclined rising parts 12, 12 at both side edges of a face plate part 11 and has crest parts and trough parts alternately formed in a constructed state. The rising parts 12 of the external facing material 1 are provided with fitting parts 121, 121" fitted and held to a fitted part 221 of the holding member 2, and the tip of one rising part 12 is provided with an inner seam part 13, while the tip of the other rising part 12' is provided with an outer seam part 14 engaged with the inner seam part 13. The inner seam part 13 and the outer seam part 14 are engaged and seam-joined while fitting the fitting parts 121, 121' of the external facing material 1 to the holding member 2 fixed onto the backing 3.
