To provide an external heating-type rotary kiln capable of inhibiting attachment of a treated object upstream of a heating section of a pipe body with a simple structure, and to provide a screw feeder capable of discharging an exhaust gas generated from the treated object to the outside of the pipe body.
This external heating-type rotary kiln 1 comprises the pipe body 2 having the heating section A for heating the heated object H inside, a heating portion 6 for heating the heating section A from the outside of the pipe body 2, and a screw feeder 3 having a supply pipe 30 inserted into the pipe body 2 from axial one end of the pipe body 2, a shaft 31 disposed at a radial inner side of the supply pipe 30, and a screw 32 disposed around the shaft and conveying the treated object H at the inside of the supply pipe 30. An exhaust passage 310 for discharging the exhaust gas generated from the treated object H in the heating section A to the outside of the pipe body 2, is disposed inside of the shaft 31.
