To prevent a stroboscope from emitting light by a small amount of light even after emitting the light when an external power supply device for the stroboscope is connected to the stroboscope.
In the external power supply device for the stroboscope, a voltage detection circuit IC2 to detect discharge and a CR time constant circuit 8 to stop charge for a prescribed time are installed, and charge by a step-up circuit 4 after discharging a step-up capacitor C1 by stroboscopic light-emitting is stopped for the prescribed time. After passage of the prescribed time, a voltage is stepped up for charging. A charge inhibited state for the prescribed time can be installed by a simple circuit up to the start of charging after light emission by the stroboscope, and the stroboscope can be prevented from being continuously brought into a less light-emitting state by a sure discharge.
