To provide an external preparation for skin, which prevents oxidation of lipid components of the skin or oxidative damage of the skin, is effective in suppressing emission of offensive odors such as body odor or aging of the skin and has an antioxidant effect, thereby improving quality preservation of the preparation.

The external preparation for skin comprises an extract of a plant belonging to the genus Larix of the family Pinaceae, such as Larix sibirica. The extract is preferably obtained using a lower alcohol or a water-containing lower alcohol as a solvent.
