Title:
EXTERNAL REAR-VIEW MIRROR FOR AUTOMOBILE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02225150
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To precisely perform reception by placing a receiver on a mirror projecting to the outside of a vehicle body, the receiver receiving signals from a transmitter installed outside the vehicle body, for controlling an automobile control device and auxiliary systems.

CONSTITUTION: A mirror 1 has an outside part 3 adjustably supported on a root part 4 secured to a vehicle body 2. In this case, a small opening 5 is formed in the root part 4, and an infrared receiver 6 is placed inside the opening 5. The infrared receiver 6 is connected to, e.g., a theft alarm system 9 via an amplifier 7 and a relay 8. A transmitter 10 transmitting predetermined signals to the infrared receiver 6 is installed outside the vehicle. Thus reception is precisely performed using the mirror 1 projecting to the outside of the vehicle body, i.e., a rear-view mirror, so that remote control for the vehicle theft alarm system 9 or the like is accurately performed.
