To provide an external structure which can obtain high photocatalyst gas decomposition activity even if a film having a thickness exceeding 2 μm is applied to suppress the deterioration of an enamel coated surface or a clear coating surface and a coating liquid for the external structure.
The external structure has a photocatalyst layer on the surface of a base material. The photocatalyst layer is obtained by drying a photocatalyst coating liquid after it is applied. The photocatalyst coating liquid has photocatalytic titanium oxide particles, niobium oxide particles, a curable silicone emulsion, and water. The photocatalytic titanium oxide particle and the niobium oxide particle are coated partially with a substance having hydrophobic groups or subjected to denaturation treatment.
