To provide an external tripping device of a circuit breaker capable of increasing the size of an electromagnet device in the winding-axial direction of a coil.
An interlocking piece 11 having an interlocking rod 10, an operation handle 12, a drive member 13, a link 14, a latch member 15 and an electromagnet device 16 are housed in the housing. The electromagnetic device 16 includes: a coil 32 which is switched according to whether or not to be excited at the voltage abnormal time of a power supply and at the voltage normal time thereof; a fixed iron core 33 whose one leg piece 33a is passed through the center of the coil 32; a movable iron core 35 which is attracted to a magnetic pole of the fixed iron core 33 when the coil 35 is excited; and a holder member 34 which is rotatably arranged with holding the movable iron core 35 and drives the latch member 15 at the voltage abnormal time of the power supply. In the housing, a groove 2c into which a mounting rail is inserted is provided on the surface opposite to the front surface from which an operation portion of the operation handle 12 is exposed. The electromagnetic device 16 is housed inside the housing so that the winding-axial direction of the coil 32 is parallel to the front surface.
