Abstract:

To resolve problems including damage to screws and buckles of shafts all by impact by eliminating screws exposed to a stern and shafts passed through a hull from boat propulsion devices.

An externally mounted electric propulsion module 10 is attached to a stern. A housing 14 of the module 10 includes inner ducts 20 having suction openings 18 located near the forward end of the module 10, and at least one propulsion unit 26 horizontally placed in the module 10 to drive water received through the suction openings 18 to a discharge opening at the rear end of the module 10. Each suction duct 20 contains a rotor blade portion 22 and a stator blade portion 24 behind it.
