To provide an extinction type garbage disposal machine capable of adjusting the ratio of moisture of garbage or the like to be decomposed so as to be held in a condition suitable for microorganisms activity.

This machine is constituted of a main body case 1, a garbage disposal vessel 2 installed therein, an agitating means 3 constructed in the lower part in the garbage treating vessel 2 and a blade 8 arranged on the upper surface of the bottom thereof, a heating means 6 arranged on the outer surface of the bottom of the garbage treating vessel 2, and a control part 7 for controlling heating action of the heating means 6 so that it is stopped when the ratio of moisture of garbage or the like is less than 40%. To the control part 7, a resistance measuring part is attached. This part is intended for taking the blade 8 and the garbage disposal vessel 2 as electrodes to measure electric resistance of the garbage or the like located between them in order to estimate the ratio of moisture of the garbage or the like.
