Title:
EXTRA FINE COPPER WIRE AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3718036
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of disconnection caused by softening in cold wire drawing and to eliminate the increase of the number of times of annealing in the process of the cold annealing by composing an extra fine copper wire having a specified diameter, which is composed of tough pitch copper in which the content of oxygen is specified, of a soft copper wire whose tensile strength is < the specified value and incorporating one or more kinds of tin and indium in specified ratios.
SOLUTION: An extra fine copper wire having 0.02 to 0.05 mm diameter composed of tough pitch copper contg. >100 to 500 ppm oxygen is produced. At this time, casting for the tough pitch copper is executed by a continuous casting machine such as SRC, a soft copper wire having <35 kg/m2 tensile strength is used, and the metal of tin and/or indium is incorporated by 5 to <200 ppm. In this way, the production cost can be reduced, the reduction of the tensile strength and elongation caused by the secular change in room temp. preservation after wire drawing is prevented, and the tough pitch copper extra fine copper wire suitable for the core wire of an extra fine enameled wire is obtd.
