PURPOSE: To provide a method for obtaining a galenical extract from a medicinal plant by a biological reaction, to obtain the galenical extract, and to prepare a galenical preparation containing the galenical extract as a medicinal effect ingredient.

CONSTITUTION: The galenical extract is extracted by adding at least one of a starch-decomposing enzyme, a protease, Aspergillus oryzae and a polysaccharide-decomposing microorganism to a medicinal plant to cause a biological reaction. Or at least one of an enzyme, a lactic acid bacterium and a fat-decomposing enzyme is added to the reaction solution during or after the reaction for an additional reaction to extract the galenical extract. Or, further the galenical extract is extracted by the above-described method using a product prepared by subjecting the medicinal plant to a Chinese medicine- preparing method as a raw material. Galenical preparations containing the extracted galenical extracts as active ingredients are obtained.
