Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for extracting metal ions from an aqueous solution wherein preparation on industrial scale can be attained in an easy and environmentally friendly process at a low cost by utilizing an absorbing substance that can be regenerated in a very short cycle.

CONSTITUTION: This is a method for extracting metal ions from an aqueous solution wherein a porous, preferably dimensionally stable hydrophobic polymer is used, with the porous polymer of a regenerative granule or powder having an average diameter of 0.1 to 10 mm, pore of 0.1 to 50 μm, which is obtained by the dissolution of a polymer in a complexing agent containing a hydrophobic liquid by heating at a temp. for obtaining the uniform solution, and by subsequently lowering the temp. for producing the porous polymer filled with the hydrophobic liquid thereby mechanically diminishing the solidified mass.
