To provide a method for highly efficiently and averagely extracting an organic compound from a cyclodextrin polymer that adsorbs the organic compound and simultaneously regenerating the cyclodextrin polymer even when the adsorbed organic compound is in an extremely minute amount as in a picogram order.
An organic compound is extracted through: a step P1 of adding a hydrophilic organic solvent such as acetone to a cyclodextrin polymer 1 that adsorbs the organic compound so as to dehydrate the cyclodextrin polymer; a step P2 of separating the mixture obtained in the step P1 by filtration or the like into a cyclodextrin polymer and an acetone aqueous solution or the like to obtain a solution 2 containing the organic compound; and a step P3 of subjecting the filtrate to Soxhlet extraction processing with acetone or a mixture solvent of methanol and toluene to separate into a solution 3 containing the organic compound and the cyclodextrin polymer 10 dissociated from the organic compound.
