Abstract:

PURPOSE: To effectively cool a bearing hole and a material to be extruded by providing a bearing tip having a thickness corresponding to the length of the bearing hole and a flow path for a cooling medium between a tip supporting metallic die opposing adjacently to the front end face of the bearing tip and the bearing tip.
CONSTITUTION: An extruding die 3 consists of the bearing tip 5 having a hole which consists the bearing part of the die and a metallic die 6 which supports the tip. The supporting metallic die 6 is provided with a tip arranging recess part 8 having a relief hole 9 in its center and a groove 10 for a cooling medium flow path is formed on the face of the die 6 contacting to the tip 5. The groove 10 consists of a circular groove 10a which is concentric with the relief hole 9 and plural straight grooves 10b which extend from the groove 10a inside in the direction of diameter and open in the relief hole 9. On the face of the die 6 in the opposite side to the tip 5, a circular groove which is concentric with the relief hole 9 is formed and a straight groove 16 is formed from the circular groove to the outside circumference. The groove 16 and the groove 10a are connected with plural longitudinal grooves 13. The cooling medium is charged from an end part 17 and discharged into the relief hole 9.
