To shorten idle time and to improve workability on the operating side by holding a billet with a billet loader positioned under an operation floor and transferring it to the billet loading port of a container on the floor.
A billet loader 30 is positioned under the operation floor. With a billet pusher advanced, the end of the billet 29 is pressed to a die 72 side by the billet pressurizing part 36c. Until the billet 29 is abutted on a stopper, the end of the billet 29 is made uniform and also its side length is adjusted. Simultaneously, adjusted to the billet length is a positional relation between an L-shaped swing arm 49A and a straight swing arm 49B, so that the billet 29 is held by a clamp. A rod 44b for horizontally moving the billet loader is extended to a die 72 as far as it advances. Successively, the billet 29 is swingingly transferred to the billet loading hole of a container, with alignment performed between the billet 29 and the loading hole. Then the billet 29 is pressed and crushed inside the container by advancing the extruding stem 28.
