To provide an extrusion press with few amount of energy consumption by reducing consumption of electric power which drives an auxiliary pump supplying pressurized fluid to pilot pressure and a cylinder line which is driven at low pressure by means of recovering and recycling hydraulic energy when each cylinder is decelerated and pressure is decreased in extrusion operation.
The extrusion press is configured so as to open a solenoid operated valve which is provided in lines of an accumulator and each of the cylinders and a main ram when decelerating in each operation of receding of a side cylinder, rise of a shear cylinder and forwarding of a container cylinder and when pressure in the main ram is decreased after extrusion completes and so as to accumulate hydraulic energy in the accumulator by recovering the hydraulic energy obtained when each of the cylinders is decelerated and pressure of the main ram is decreased and at the same time so as to detect pressure in the accumulator and so as to accumulate the hydraulic energy in the accumulator by driving a hydraulic pump if detected pressure is lower than a predetermined pressure, thereby reducing amount of energy consumption.
