To provide an eye fundus observation apparatus that effectively executes dispersion compensation.
The eye fundus observation apparatus functions as an optical image measuring apparatus that divides broadband light (low coherence light LO) into signal light LS and reference light LR, generates interference light LC by piling the signal light LS going via the fundus on the reference light LR going via a reference mirror 174 and forms a fundus image from the detection results for the interference light LC. The fundus observation apparatus corrects the influences of dispersion of reference light LR from the information of eyeballs, then generates the interference light LC from the low coherence light LO and detects this interference light LC to form an OCT fundus image from the detection results. By this, an effective dispersion compensation taking account of the influences of dispersion caused by the eyeball optical system becomes possible.
