Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for detecting quickly a faulty fabric in the case of multiple subordinate connection (meshing topology) in switches (fabrics) in a fiber channel and when a module of a fabric is faulty.
SOLUTION: Each fabric 101 stores an operating state of a module 103 of each fabric 101 to a maintenance monitor table 104 via an internal bus 102, the maintenance monitor table 104 connects to a monitor means 1-9 of a maintenance management means 107 via a maintenance interface 106, the maintenance management means 107 is provided with a timer 110, a storage means 108, a comparison means 111 and a report means 112, and when the timer 110 reaches a setting time, the monitor means 109 collects information of the maintenance monitor table 104 of each fabric 101 and the storage means 108 stores the information while conducting generation management and when the comparison means 111 finds out up-to-date information different from the stored information, the report means 112 reports it to a maintenance personnel.
