PURPOSE: To surely detect a defect such as a weft bar in the weft direction even when it occurs in woven fabric.
CONSTITUTION: Between a cloth fell W1 and an expansion bar 3, fabric inspection equipment 8 is disposed at the end part of woven fabric W on the opposite side to a main nozzle 7. The fabric inspection equipment 8 has a holding box 9 provided with a window 9a in the upper part and a reflecting plate 10, and the woven fabric W moves, being held by the holding box 9 and the reflecting plate 10 between. A sensor head 11 provided with a detecting window 11a is fixed inside the holding box 9. The sensor head 11 applies a light to the woven fabric W through the detecting window 11a and the light is reflected by the reflecting plate 10 and made to enter the detecting window 11a. In the sensor head 11, a spatial filter provided with a plurality of light-sensing elements arranged in parallel to each other is disposed and an image of the woven fabric W based on the incident light is formed on this spatial filter. On the occasion, an image of a weft Y is found in a state of being parallel to the longitudinal direction of the light-sensing elements and moves perpendicularly to this longitudinal direction.
