Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a fabric for papermaking is brought to include a large number of thin yarns which give excellent fiber supporting force with keeping durability of the fabric in the side contacting with a papermaking machine and effective water discharging performance of a paper web contact surface.
CONSTITUTION: This papermaking fabric comprises a fabric layer 10 including cross machine direction fabric yarns 12 and machine direction fabric yarns 14 interwoven to form a papermaking surface with alternating single knuckles 16 thereon. First additional cross machine direction yarns 20' are positioned between adjacent cross machine direction fabric yarns 12 on the papermaking surface of the fabric layer. Second additional cross machine direction yarns 22' are also positioned between the cross machine direction yarns 12 on the papermaking surface of the fabric layer 10. Each of the first additional cross machine direction yarns 20' and the second additional cross machine direction yarns 22' serve as fiber supporting yarns and further as locator yarns for another of the first additional cross machine direction yarns 20' and the second cross machine direction yarns. Each of the first and second cross machine direction yarns 20' and 22' are interwoven with the fabric layer 10.
