Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the appearance of a product by contacting closely an embossed plastic sheet of prescribed thickness to the surface of a wooden fiberboard molding by vacuum suction and sharpening a deep-drawn edge corner portions.
SOLUTION: Fine grain embossments E'1 are formed on the surface of a 100-250 μ-thick plastic sheet 10 such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester or polyamide. The plastic sheet 10 is stuck closely by vacuum suction following the molding shape of a wooden fiberboard molding 1A and the shape of the deep-drawn embossment portion. In such case, the plastic sheet 10 is heat softened or an adhesive is applied to the rear side and adhered. And a recess in the low-density portion L of the edge corner portion C produced by deep- drawing is covered to prevent the edge corner portion C from becoming a round corner. When necessary, a coating may be applied to the edge corner portion C, thereby preventing the embossments from standing out and improving the appearance.
