PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face fitting image display device for medical use which does not interfere with monitor observation even in spite of its design in which viewing angle is enlarged to observe the outside.
SOLUTION: This device is composed of a monitor window (LCD plate 11) which is able to monitor a lower area and side area, an incident light detection means (sensor 13) which detects intensity of an incident light from the monitor window, a control means (LCD controller 15) which controls a transmittance rate of the monitor window according to the incident light detection means, and a control means (back light controller 15) which controls a luminance of monitors (LCD monitors 3 and 4). This realizes a see-through observation of the outside as well as an appropriate contrast of the monitor image by controlling transmittance of the monitor window and brightness of the back light.
