Title:
SOLID WIRE FOR GAS SIHELDED ARC WELDING AND PRODUCTION THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3237920
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce the solid a high wire by an intragranular oxidation method generating less spatters with a high productivity by forming a steel wire, the compsn. over the entire part of which satisfies specific formulas and specifying the depth of a layer having intragranular oxides from the wire surface to a specific ratio of the wire diameter when the section of the steel wire is observed by a microscope.
CONSTITUTION: The compsn. over the entire part of the steel wire for gas shielded arc welding satisfies the formula I and the formula II and further, the depth of the layer having ≥10 pieces of the intragranular oxides per 10μm2 when the section of the wire is observed by the 1000-times microscope from the wire surface is specified to ≥0.2% of the wire diameter. As a result, the transformation from the α phase to the γ phase is sufficiently retarded. This steel wire is produced by subjecting the wire to a heat treatment exceeding 800°C in a weakly oxidative atmosphere. The sub-scale layer mainly formed with grain boundary oxidation at ≤800°C heating temp. and intragranular oxidation at over 800°C is formed.
