Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce effects of differences between individuals and between situations in a face image processing apparatus which determines the state of opening or closing of an eye.SOLUTION: A face image processing apparatus 100 comprises: an opening degree detection unit 10 for detecting an opening degree value representing an opening degree of an eye based on a face image; a nictation feature amount calculation unit 20 for calculating a feature amount of nictation based on the opening degree value detected by the opening degree detection unit; and a periodic nictation determination unit 30 for determining whether or not the nictation is periodic nictation based on the feature amount of nictation calculated by the nictation feature amount calculation unit. The feature amount of nictation calculated by the nictation feature amount calculation unit includes an opening/closing time period indicating the period from the instant the opening degree detection unit detects that the eye is now closing until the instant the opening degree detection unit detects that the eye is now opening and/or the interval of nictation or nictation of both eyes detected by the opening degree detection unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
