A face material 1 is coated on a surface of a base (a) such as a concrete, a metal, a slate or the like which is existed in a place such as a street, a park, a building or the like where a sunlight is irradiated, and touches the atmosphere to purify nitrogen oxide NOx contained in the atmosphere. The face material 1 coated on the surface of the base (a) touching the atmosphere is composed of a photocatalytic titanium oxide and a mortar material containing a glass aggregate 2, a cement, a fine aggregate or the like, which partially exposes from the surface of the base (a) at the time of coating. The photocatalytic titanium oxide contained in the face material 1, wherein photocatalytic action is functioned by irradiation of sunlight, adsorbs the nitrogen oxide NOx contained in the atmosphere and develops an atmosphere purifying function.
