Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the face property of a cylinder block bore and a honing method therefor with which the improvement of the ability to resist scuffing, the reduction of friction, and the lowering of oil consumption can be simultaneously realized in the entire cylinder block bore.
CONSTITUTION: The surface roughness of the thrust-and anti-thrust parts, on which a piston 9 acts, in the circumferential direction of a cylinder block bore 3 is relatively rough formed. Simultaneously with this, the surface roughness of the parts except the thrust-and-anti-thrust part is finely formed to form a face property in the cylinder block bore. Honing is performed in state where rigidity reinforcing materials 15, 17 are fitted into the thrust-and anti-thrust parts, on which the piston 9 acts, in the circumferential direction of the bore 3 of the cylinder block 1, in the inside of which a water jacket 11 is formed, and the rigidity is increased.
