Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflector having such a vehicle light distribution pattern that light is diffused in a horizontal direction and central luminous intensity is secured by using a predetermined reflector curve formed on a horizontal plane including an optical axis and the like as a reference curve.
SOLUTION: A curve formed on a horizontal plane including an optical axis (x) and the like by a reflector is used as a reference curve 4. The curve 4 is formed of a complex curve in which hyperbolic curves and elliptic curves 4e1, 4h1, 4e2, 4h2... having focal points (f) on the optical axis (x) are alternately repeated. The closer the curves are to the optical axis (x), the larger the angles of reflection lights Q1V1, Q2V2... from a light source body C provided at a reference point in the vicinity of a focal point (f) to the optical axis (x) are set to be. A curved surface is formed as the aggregate of intersection lines produced when a virtual revolution paraboloid which has a parallel axis to a reflection light vector and takes the reference point as its focal point is cut by parallel planes to vertical planes including light beam vectors. Thereby, a vehicle reflector diffuses light in a horizontal direction, and has a vehicle light distribution pattern with predetermined central luminous intensity.
