Abstract:
To provide a facially amphiphilic polyphenylene and heteroarylene polymers and articles made therefrom having biocidal surfaces, to provide a method for bonding the facially amphiphilic polymers to a solid support and to provide utility as a contact disinfectant.
The polymer containing a compound represented by a formula can inhibit the growth of microorganisms in contact with the surface or in areas adjacent to the biocidal surface.
