Abstract:
PURPOSE: To simplify the operation of data generation and transmission to a host device by reading and sending a destination telephone number and a service class command stored in a same storage area corresponding to each key in matching with a communications procedure with a destination through the key operation and sending the read command and telephone number.
CONSTITUTION: A CPU 1 controls the entire communications equipment based on a program stored in a ROM 5 and uses a MODEM 4 to make communication with a host device 3 composed of a store and forward converter through an external line such as a telephone network controlled by a network controller 2. A telephone directory and screen display information area is set to a RAM 6, which stores data and transmission procedure for the host device for each destination telephone number and communications service item and they are displayed by a display device 7. Thus, the CPU 1 generates and sends required data to the host device 3 by having only to depress an abbreviation key by the user according to an entry request urged by a pattern menu and the desired communications service is obtained. Thus, repetitive entry or the like is not required and data generation and transmission operation to the host device is simplified.
