Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile equipment capable of giving information on a communication function and to provide a communication network system capable of efficiently using a communication line.
SOLUTION: In transmitting picture data through a first or second facsimile equipment 1 or 2 connected to a communication network, a personal computer 4 can obtain the communication function of the first and second facsimile equipments 1 and 2 by an SNMP(simple network managing protocol). Thereby a facsimile equipment transmitting picture data based on the original size and resolution of transmitting picture data and the kind of the communication line (analog, digital), or the like is automatically selected. Consequently, even in a case when a facsimile equipment is extended at a communication network, the communication function of the extended facsimile equipment is speedily obtained.
