PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of selecting a communication method which is much more beneficial for a user in accordance with communication content in facsimile equipment capable of using both an IP network and a public network.SOLUTION: The facsimile equipment includes: first transmission means for transmitting facsimile data via a public network to a transmission opposite party; reception means for receiving IP information of the transmission opposite party from the transmission opposite party; determination means for disconnection communication via the public network, and for determining whether to retransmit the facsimile data via an IP network on the basis of the IP information received by the reception means; and second transmission means for, when it is determined that the facsimile data are retransmitted by the determination means, disconnecting communication via the public network, and for retransmitting the facsimile data via the IP network to the transmission opposite party on the basis of the IP information.
