PURPOSE: To simplify key operation by starting facsimile(FAX) transmission at the time of detecting the set state of a FAX original when dial data are received from a card as an optical signal.

CONSTITUTION: When an original sensor 8 detects the set state of the FAX original at the time of receiving dial data from the card as the optical signal of an optical sensor 17, FAX transmission is started. Namely, a control part 4 stores the dial number received from the sensor 17 in a RAM 6, and when the sensor 8 detects the set state of the original, secures a line and calls the dial number. At the time of detecting connection with a terminating subscriber, the transfer of a FAX procedure signal and image transmission are executed. Consequently, key operation for FAX transmission can be simplified.
