PURPOSE: To surely deliver data even to a destination uncapable of multi-color recording by reading a multi-color original while being separated into binary white/black overall data and each color data and sending the data in matching with the multi-color recording capability of a destination.
CONSTITUTION: When a read means 1 reads a multi-color original, the entire color data are read as black data as overall data and then blue and red color data are read respectively and stored in a storage means 2. Then a transmission means 3 encodes the data and sends the coded data. In this case, all data or the overall data only are sent depending on the provision of the multi-color recording capability of the destination. Thus, the data are surely sent in matching with the recording capability of the destination.
