CONSTITUTION: When read of an original is finished, a dial number of a facsimile equipment of a communication destination is entered to make dialing, then a control signal is received and sent by a prescribed control means with line connection with the facsimile equipment of the communication destination. In this case, since the communication speed is set depending on the communication speed of a MODEM and the line state provided to the sender and the receiver side, the control circuit 1 at the sender side calculates the communication time from the data quantity stored in advance in a register and the set communication speed and the calculated time data by, e.g. an NSS signal is sent to the receiver side. The receiver side facsimile equipment receiving the time data is stored in a memory 8 and the result is displayed on a display device 9 as the communication time.
