The receiver side facsimile terminal informs a transmitter side facsimile terminal about whether or not the receiver side is a radio connection. The transmitter side detects whether or not its connection is a radio connection. The transmitter informs the receiver about whether or not the connection of the transmitter side is a radio connection, and communication control for facsimile communication is changed on the basis of each information. When both the transmitter side and the receiver side are radio connection, the transmission start speed is set lowest.
