Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an on-vehicle electronic control device fail-safe device capable of turning the electronic control system to a safe state only by interrupting the system from a power supply and applying manual control to the system even when a system loading vehicle rushes into a strong electromagnetic field caused by illegular strong radio waves.
CONSTITUTION: Plural microcomputers 8, 12 for system monitoring circuits are individually arranged in order to execute failure diagnosis for an actuator driving circuit 2 and mutual failure diagnosis between respective monitoring circuits in the control system and a self-holding relay circuit 6 allowed to hold a conductive state only after turning on a start switch 5, be interrupted at the time of detecting a system failure by the monitoring circuit and hold the interrupted state until the switch 5 is turned on is connected between a power supply and the circuit 2.
