Abstract:

To provide a fail-safe valve for controlling an active roll.

A roll controller includes at least one actuator having a first chamber and a second chamber. A pump is communicated with the first and second chambers to let fluid flow between them. A motor is connected with the pump and is linked to a control device, which is constituted to give orders to the motor selectively, drive the pump by responding to a roll signal, and let the fluid flow in the desired direction between the first and second chambers. In one example, the fail-safe valve is arranged among the pump and the first and second chambers and includes a first opening position where the first and second chambers are mutually connected to let the fluid flow between them and bypass the pump.
