PURPOSE: To obtain a failure analysis device which does not require much time for data input, has less input errors and a highly reliable data.
CONSTITUTION: A template 11 which is drawn based on a mounted parts information is mounted onto a tablet digitizer 12. A touch pen 16 contacts a parts display of the template 11 which corresponds to parts which failed. The tablet digitizer 12 allows coordinates of the failed parts which the touch pen 16 touched to be input into a personal computer main unit 13. In the personal computer main unit 13, information on the mounted parts of the parts display which is contacted is retrieved based on a stored information on the mounted parts. With failure information of the failed parts, an command, code indicating the failure information is input to the personal computer main unit 13 by allowing the touch pen 16 to contact a code table of the template 11 and by using the tablet digitizer 12. In the personal computer main unit 13, retrieved information on the mounted parts of the failed parts and the input command code allow a totaling processing of data and a failure analysis to be performed, thus enabling the result to be displayed on a screen output device 15.
