Title:
FAILURE DETECTING METHOD FOR FUEL INJECTION VALVE HEATER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3729730
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with a lack of uniformity in durability of heaters for heating a fuel injection valve of a multiple cylinder engine by constantly detecting whether or not each heater is operating normally without individually providing failure detectors and requiring a correction to normal driving of a vehicle.
SOLUTION: When stopping operations of the heaters, operations of all the plurality of heaters are sequentially stopped one at a time and every time a heater is stopped, a change generated in at least one of an operation current or an operation voltage of the whole heater is detected. When uniformity of the changes is lost, the heater related to the stoppage is determined to be broken.
