Abstract:
To provide a failure detection method of an acceleration sensor for an automobile, and the acceleration sensor for the automobile having a function for detecting a failure by the method.
In this failure detection method of the acceleration sensor 1 for the automobile having three detection axes GA1, GB1, GC1 intersecting mutually orthogonally, it is determined that a failure occurs when the A value determined from the following expression (1) is substantially different from the gravitational acceleration. In the expression, G11, G21, G31 are accelerations [G] detected by each detection axis GA1, GB1, GC1 at the stopping time or at the linear uniform motion time of the automobile.
