Title:
Failure detection systems and methods for overspeed protection speed sensors
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP6342138
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
A fault detection system (100) for an over-speed protection system of a rotating machine includes a first speed sensor (110), second speed sensor (120), and third speed sensor (130) sensing a speed of a shaft of the rotating machine. The system includes a first input configured to receive a first pulse train (115) from the first speed sensor (110), a second input configured to receive a second pulse train (125) from the second speed sensor (120), a third input configured to receive a third pulse train (135) from the third speed sensor (130), and a processor (140) configured to generate a shutdown signal for the rotating machine based on the first pulse train (115), the second pulse train (125), and the third pulse train (135).
