Abstract:
To provide a technology determining whether or not a degree of clogging of an HPL-EGR passage and/or an LPL-EGR passage reach(es) an abnormal level, when both an HPL-EGR mechanism and an LPL-EGR mechanism are used, in an MPL-EGR system.
A degree of deterioration in exhaust property in an MPL area is found based on a degree of clogging of a high-pressure EGR passage acquired in a high-pressure EGR area and a degree of clogging of a low-pressure EGR passage acquired in a low-pressure EGR area, so that an abnormality in the EGR system is determined according to a correction amount of a controlled parameter required for reducing the degree of deterioration.
